So I’m new to this place called the blogosphere. Learning as I go. I currently have a WIX site, aRAIofStitches4u.com (that’s “array”) and am looking for my new WordPress blog to work with that site. Keeping my fingers crossed. It’s been four days and trying to iron out some technical wrinkles. Lo and behold, I believe it’s on my end. Yes, user error. Well, kinda. I use Chrome as my search engine. For some reason, after clearing out the cache on my computer, when I type in my blog address, blog.araiofstitches4u, my website keeps popping up, but when I go onto Safari, the correct information pops up. I don’t get it. I’ve shut the computer down and still, nothing. If anyone has any helpful hints, by all means, I’m open.
Anyway, I’m a cross stitcher and a virgo all wrapped into one, an anal perfectionist to say the least, so you can see why this might be driving me nuts. My t’s need to be crossed and my i’s dotted, to the best of my knowledge, or it drives me insane.
Hmmmm, why am I here? To get the word out about my cross stitching shop on both Etsy, and my own website. I also want to share my creative side, my passions. Cross stitching, creating things, photography, and of course, my 5 year old, just light the fire inside of me. I love visioning something in my head and making it come to life, sort of say. This is what keeps my spirit. I hadn’t cross stitched in a long time nor been creative for a while. After the birth of my daughter and then battling cancer, life was busy and different. I thought I lost my creative edge and needed to find it again. This depressed me. Today, I’m craving it and want it to lead in all directions; wherever it will lead me. My creativity, to me, is extra special when it has sentiment in someone’s life. I believe this is why I enjoy creating things of sentimental value; ie. birth samplers, portraits, children’s drawings gone stitches, etc.
Another thing that sparks a fire inside of me is Photography. When a photographer shoots in such a way, capturing a moment from a vantage point different than my own. It astonishes me. It makes me wonder what they are thinking and feeling at that moment and what they are seeing to have created such a piece. I enjoy taking pictures and just now dabbling in editing, for fun. I have no idea what I am doing, but I do enjoy watching the original images change into the vision that I saw when I initially took the picture.
All of this creative energy is bottled up inside of me and it has to come out in some way, shape or form, so what better way to do it than through my stitching and some photography fun on the side. I am by no means a professional photographer, but I do enjoy it!
Well, thank you for reading my first blog. There will be others, in regards to my stitching, to come, so stay tuned. Heck, I may even throw in some of the photos I shoot and edit, to once again, share with you, my passion. You can visit my blog for works in progress or new and upcoming ideas for stitches.
Just to get you up to speed, my newest items are turning drawings into stitches, particularly a child’s drawing, and also logo stitching. For more detail visit my website. Below are pictures of each.
